A reboot on the reboot??

Okay - I know my reboot failed. It has been almost a year and I didn't post.....Terrible! I am going to do a reboot on my reboot. I appreciate your willingness to forgive and stick with me as I tend to forget about my blog. I am (again) trying to do better and will post more frequently. I have actually finished a few projects (shocking, I know!) and have the materials for over a dozen more. I am going to to this if for nothing else but my own satisfaction to document that I CAN do something creative! Stay tuned - I will post in the next day or so! Best wishes!

Reboot

Not surprising if you know me but I started this blog in July, made two posts, and then forgot about it.....If you check my very first post, you will see that I forewarned you to this possibility. I am going to try to do better - and re-purpose this blog. Do a reboot, so to speak.  Dave and I have been working on lots of little projects here and there and I am a huge Pinterest addict...So I will start to post some of my projects. I might also post some different things I find interesting - links to other blogs or recipes - who knows? My goal is to try to do one posting a week. We will see if I can do it or not....Given my track record, I wouldn't hold my breath!

My first email from Allen Thompson

Below is the very first email I received from Allen Thompson on April 11, 2000. It was titled "American History". Enjoy!

It was the first day of school and a new student, the son of a Japanese businessman, entered the fourth grade. The teacher greeted the class and said, "Let's begin by reviewing some American history. Who said "Give me Liberty, or give me death?" She saw only a sea of blank faces, except for that of Toshiba, who had his hand up. "Patrick Henry, 1775," said the boy.

"Now," said the teacher, "Who said 'Government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth?" Again, no response except from Toshiba: "Abraham Lincoln, 1863." The teacher snapped at the class, "You should be ashamed. Toshiba, who is new to our country, knows more about it than you do."

As she turned to write something on the blackboard, she heard a loud whisper: "Damned Japanese." "Who said that?" she demanded. Toshiba put his hand up. "Lee Iacocca, 1982," he said.

A blast from the past

With a new baby in the house, sleep is limited. It is one of those nights where the little man is having a party so mom is up with him. Instead of doing something useful, like dishes or laundry, I decided to clean out my email account I have had since junior high. Some of the things I found in there were priceless! I was going to share some of the old messages on Facebook but they are too long for status updates and I didn't want to post a thousand notes that I would have to tag people in, hence, the blog. Hopefully, this will not be something that I start and then never finish, which is one of my worst traits. With that in mind, I will conclude my first posting and post my first ancient email.
